From greening vines to Earth Day to our New Spring Passport theme, “Down to Earth,” everything is coming up green for this month that most people association with a green scene of another sort, that being tax season. All the more reason to head up to Burrell School and replenish your wine cellar with some of our latest releases, just in time for Spring!
We’re grateful to Mother Nature for the bit of rainfall she’s showered upon us, and we’re hoping she’s not turning off her spigot of generosity quite yet. The vines could all use a drink, and frankly, so could we! not to mention our reservoirs are looking mighty low. A bit more rain will translate into happier vines! Here at Burrell School, we farm and make wine in the most sustainable way possible, including using rainwater catch barrels and solar panels for all our winery operations, plus organic sprays for fungus abatement. We’ve transitioned to lightweight glass of recycled materials and our oak comes from sustainably farmed forests. We’re even experimenting with clove oil as a weed control method around the vines. This avoids harsh chemicals and it smells good, too!
