DESCRIPTION:Join us in Old Town Los Gatos on Thursday\, May 1st\, from 4-7PM for the first Old Town Arts & Eats Festival . This event will include art displays\, musical entertainment\, wine tasting\, and light bites served by Old Town Center restaurants. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Museums of Los Gatos. SUMMARY:May Brings Days of Wine & Roses to The Schoolhouse
DESCRIPTION:May brings the long-anticipated celebration of our annual “Wine and Roses” event up here at the red schoolhouse.  Due to the warm and non-existent winter\, the roses actually started almost a month early this year!  We’ve already experienced some of the most amazing blooms ever up at the Schoolhouse! \nOut in the gazebo garden\, there is an explosion of color and fragrance in the newly replanted rose garden\, and we invite you to bring Mom up to smell the flowers and enjoy them next weekend\, before summer’s heat sets in. The garden will be open weekends in May beginning May 10th. \nMeanwhile\, the grapevines are blooming and setting grape clusters and thriving after some much-welcome March and April rainfall. One of the most anticipated and beloved events of the year for students at the Schoolhouse! \n \nSPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT \nDrum roll\, please—Burrell School Vineyards is celebrating our 20th anniversary in the wine business this year.  We received our federal bond on October 6th\, 1994.  And\, after 20 years of growing\, harvesting\, wine making\, bottling\, tasting\, selling and meeting the best people in the world\, we’re still having fun. \nWe’ll be sharing history lessons throughout the year and will have some very special events scheduled for October. \nMAY HISTORY LESSON \nHere at Burrell School\, Anne began planting the first Chardonnay vines in February\, 1990.  300 vines went in and\, not very wisely\, Anne volunteered to water them with a hose (actually 5 very long hoses) during their first growing season.  The next year\, we planted 2000 more Chardonnay vines\, along with installing a drip irrigation system.
