DESCRIPTION:An exclusive tasting of Cabernet of the Santa Cruz Mountains held at Vidovich Vineyards on Montebello rd. Purchase tickets for the 2.5 hour tasting salon or attend both the salon and an intimate winemaker dinner. \nPremier Cruz is an exclusive tasting of Cabernet Sauvignon produced from the Santa Cruz Mountains American Viticulture Area (AVA) where each winery pours a new release and a rare and older vintage to compare and contrast. Premier Cruz is an opportunity to meet an array of the Cabernet producers from the Santa Cruz Mountains region as well as taste some world-class wines\, enjoy a wine harvest dinner prepared by Chef Ross Hanson of Oak & Rye and a silent wine auction. \nSince the late 1800’s the Santa Cruz Mountains has been recognized as a premium Cabernet-producing region\, when local winegrowers began to win acclaim in national and international competitions. At the Judgment of Paris in 1976\, a blind tasting proved that California wines could equal and even surpass the great French wines. One of the twelve wines chosen to represent California was Ridge Vineyards’ Monte Bello Cabernet from the Santa Cruz Mountains. The tasting was repeated in 2006 with the same vintages and the Ridge Monte Bello was judged the top rated wine. \nThe Santa Cruz Mountains is a special place for growing Mountain Cabernet. The region offers an array of individual microclimates\, hot days and cool nights\, marine influences\, high elevations\, distinctive soils and fruit from 80 acres or less\, all contribute to the distinct flavor profiles of a mountain Cabernet unlike those of Napa or Sonoma. There are several notable wineries in the region producing unique mountain cabernet including: Ridge Vineyards\, Kathryn Kennedy Vineyards\, House Family Vineyards\, Burrell School Vineyards\, Cooper-Garrod Estate Vineyards\, Fernwood Cellars\, Mount Eden Vineyards\, Lexington Wine Co.\, Left Bend Winery\, Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyard\, Silver Mountain Vineyards and Woodside Vineyards. \nSalon is from 4:30-7pm; Dinner starts at 7pm. DESCRIPTION:Presenting the Downtown Santa Cruz Spring Wine Walk 2024! Join us in the heart of the Central Coast to taste great wines from the Santa Cruz Mountains and beyond. \nMust be 21 or older! \nEnjoy sipping while strolling through many favorite Downtown Santa Cruz shops. At Check-in\, receive your glass\, and a map of the pouring locations\, and enjoy an afternoon of tasting and discovering. This walking event will be held on Sunday May 19\, 2024 from 3-6pm. Plan ahead for a dinner or movie to follow! \nRegistration check-in is at Oswald Restaurant\, 121 Soquel Avenue and will open at 2:30pm on the day of the event and closes at 4:30pm. Ticket holders and buyers MUST arrive at registration before 4:30pm. \nTickets are limited. $40 in advance / If not sold out in advance\, then $45 day-of event per person \nE ach ticket holder will enjoy a fun tour of Downtown Santa Cruz’s finest retail shops and get to sample 1-3 wines from all 12 wineries that are showcased during this event. \nOnline sales end on May 19 at 1pm. Please come in person for tickets between 2:30-4:30pm! Day-of ticket sales end at 4:30pm. \nPARTICIPATING WINERIES \nAnnounced soon! \nThis is a rain or shine event! \nPlease drink responsibly. Don’t Drink and Drive! \nABC regulations prohibit walking between tasting locations with any wine in your glass.
