At last, harvest is winding down, and the Class of 2012 has pretty much made its way into the cellar. Reds are being pressed and moved to barrels and our cellar space is rapidly filling up. An impressive 77.2 tons of grapes have hit the crush pad and Winemaker Dave is super impressed with all the flavors so far: looks like a very promising Class of 2012. It was a GIANT harvest, indeed!!
There are some new foreign exchange students at the school this year, including Malbec and Grenache from the Mann Vineyard in southeast Santa Clara Valley. Keep a look out for some interesting Rhone style blends in another 18 months. We’re still waiting for the Cabernet Franc on the estate property to come in. Hopefully with the warm weekend weather, this will finally come to pass.
Cheers to Vintage 2012 and our incredible crew who made it happen!!
