Purchase tickets for the 2.5 hour tasting salon or attend both the salon and an intimate winemaker dinner. \nPremier Cruz is an exclusive tasting of Cabernet Sauvignon produced from the Santa Cruz Mountains American Viticulture Area (AVA) where each winery pours a new release and a rare and older vintage to compare and contrast. Premier Cruz is an opportunity to meet an array of the Cabernet producers from the Santa Cruz Mountains region as well as taste some world-class wines\, enjoy a wine harvest dinner prepared by Chef Ross Hanson of Oak & Rye and a silent wine auction. \nSince the late 1800’s the Santa Cruz Mountains has been recognized as a premium Cabernet-producing region\, when local winegrowers began to win acclaim in national and international competitions. At the Judgment of Paris in 1976\, a blind tasting proved that California wines could equal and even surpass the great French wines. One of the twelve wines chosen to represent California was Ridge Vineyards’ Monte Bello Cabernet from the Santa Cruz Mountains. The tasting was repeated in 2006 with the same vintages and the Ridge Monte Bello was judged the top rated wine. \nThe Santa Cruz Mountains is a special place for growing Mountain Cabernet. The region offers an array of individual microclimates\, hot days and cool nights\, marine influences\, high elevations\, distinctive soils and fruit from 80 acres or less\, all contribute to the distinct flavor profiles of a mountain Cabernet unlike those of Napa or Sonoma. There are several notable wineries in the region producing unique mountain cabernet including: Ridge Vineyards\, Kathryn Kennedy Vineyards\, House Family Vineyards\, Burrell School Vineyards\, Cooper-Garrod Estate Vineyards\, Fernwood Cellars\, Mount Eden Vineyards\, Lexington Wine Co.\, Left Bend Winery\, Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyard\, Silver Mountain Vineyards and Woodside Vineyards. \nSalon is from 4:30-7pm; Dinner starts at 7pm. DESCRIPTION:Come taste the good life by attending the Santa Cruz Mountains Winegrowers Associations\, Try it\, Buy it Vintner’s Marketplace at Santana Row on Sunday\, April 21\, 2013.  Similar to a farmers market\, the Santa Cruz Mountains\,Try it\, Buy it Vintner’s Marketplace allows you to sip and buy wines from legendary Winemakers of the Santa Cruz Mountains. You will surely take away some wines that will impress any guest because many of our wineries are generally not open to the public and limited to weekend only tastings. \nAdmission is free! The event will feature wines from over 20 Santa Cruz Mountains Wineries. How can you enjoy wine alone without food? The event will also have an array of local Santana Row restaurants offering edible delights.   \nThe way the event works: \nAdmission is free for entrance into the event and to listen to live music            \nFood will be available for purchase from participating restaurants \nWine tasting is available for purchase: \nAdvanced ticket package is $40 for two people. Package includes two glasses and 20 tasting tickets \nOnsite ticket sales: $10 for a glass and $1 for each tasting ticket. A taste is between  3-5 tickets per varietal. \nWine at the tasting will be available for purchase at the Vintner’s Marketplace.
