2012 Zinfandel-Syrah “High School Sweethearts”

Here is the equation for the 2012 vintage Sweethearts,: 50% Zinfandel plus 50% Syrah.   At seven years old, this wine exhibits a well rounded structure with sleek tannins and smoky oak notes.  Big fruit flavors of bright raspberry, strawberry and cherry are complemented by a nose of dried orange peel, sandalwood and cardamom.  There’s also a note of licorice and exotic earthiness.  To quote Winemaker Dave, “It takes a 50/50 mix to be happy together for over 50 years”

Our Sweethearts will reward with extended aging.  Fantastic now!  Enjoy thru 2022.
