Suzy Rad(onsky)

Suzy Radonsky is a self-taught Santa Cruz based acrylic painter specializing in neo-realistic wildlife and pet portraits. Her distinctive technique layers bold, unexpected color beneath intricate fur, feathers, and scales, creating luminous depth and vibrancy. Recently diagnosed as Autistic, Suzy recognizes how her heightened sensory perception informs her work, allowing her to see and translate vivid color relationships with unusual intensity and nuance. Her paintings move beyond realism; she seeks to capture the soul and energetic presence of each animal, bringing their spirit to life on canvas.
After serving in the USAF, Suzy pursued adventure abroad, working as a whitewater guide and brewery tour leader before fully returning to her artistic path. Today, she works as a professional studio artist at the Tannery Arts Center in Santa Cruz, where she continues to evolve her bold, intuitive visual language.
