Join Ed Penniman as he “Plein Aire” paints in the vineyards with his colleagues, “Pairing” Art and Wine! Plein aire painting is the practice of creating a finished artwork outdoors, directly from nature, rather than in a studio. It’s a French term, “en plein aire,” meaning “in the open air,” and it emphasizes capturing the fleeting effects of light, atmosphere, and color as they appear in the natural environment. This approach allows artists to respond directly to the visual and sensory experience of being in a specific place.
