Tasting Notes
Our popular “Valedictorian” is a Santa Cruz Mountains favorite. The nose boasts hearty blackberry, plum and cassis with hints of bay leaf highlighted by its 24 months of new French oak barreling. On the palette, flavors of deep red berries are balanced with notes of sandalwood and licorice while showing silky tannins. A lingering finish with hints of eucalyptus increases its earthy, balanced complexity, making this an amazing food wine. Pair with beef tenderloin, truffle polenta with root vegetables or a bold blue cheese. Best enjoyed now through 2032
Awards: Double Gold Medal, Appellation America, December 2008.
“If you only drink one Bordeaux-style wine from the Santa Cruz Mountains, make it this one.”
