About Kimberly Parrish

I started making art at an early age, influenced by my mother and her sisters, all artists.
Ever since I made my first woodcut print in the basement with my mother something about prints had me hooked!  I received a BA in Design from UC Davis in 1980. I’ve studied art, with a special emphasis on printmaking at many different colleges and universities ever since. I love prints and the process – carving the plate, watching the acid etch the metal, the smell of the ink, the feel of the paper. It’s a multi layered process that for me is very satisfying when I reach the end result.

In my current series my inspiration is music. I try to capture the feeling that the
music gives me rather than what the musicians or instruments look like
academically. Music stirs my soul. I’m hoping to transfer this feeling to the finished
print.

About Don Lobner
Raised on a Wisconsin farm, the son of a school teacher and a cattle rustler, and the descendent of the famous poet lord Byron, Don Marlowe Lobner has a unique story to tell. And he tells it with guts, grit and a unique humour. Clearly, it’s in the blood.
As an artist, Don has been drawing, painting, and making photographs since his was 12 years old. He began printmaking in 1980 when he first attended Cabrillo college.
